INTRODUCING VOYAGER 8
Release Candidate 3 (RC3)
FEATURES:
- Network Address Translation (NAT)
- Dynamic Discovery
- Shared PIM (Contacts, Tasks, Calendars) and files across device communities
- Supports iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, Microsoft .NET and Compact Framework (CF), JEE, and 15 embedded platforms
How does it work?
- Voyager offers a single API for all of today’s most popular mobile platforms.
It serves as an abstraction layer so developers can leverage the same code base for multiple OSs and languages, and even integrate legacy applications. Voyager bridges desktops to phones to embedded devices and some sensors.
- Voyager is for location-based collaboration. Devices can share PIM information, including Contacts, Files, Tasks and Calendars among ad hoc mobile communities. People or devices can discover, join, chat, share information and leave transient communities.
- Voyager makes every device a server. Its decentralized peer-to-peer/group messaging and edge processing avoids the single point of failure and proprietary hardware requirements that hinder even today’s most popular mobile and mobile web applications.
- Get coding! Sign-up for the developers beta today. If you like what you see, or if there’s something you would like to see, let us know!
